Kripalu Yoga

Teta Barry offers beginning and continuing yoga classes in the Kripalu tradition.  Kripalu yoga offers a holistic approach to the art of living by working gently with the body, mind and spirit.  Each class includes guided postures, breathing techniques and relaxation.  Teta's students experience increased strength, flexibility and balance, as well as clarity, self acceptance and an overall sense of well-being.

TriYoga®

TriiYoga®, founded by Kali Ray, is a systematic method which includes the full spectrum of traditional yoga practices.  Flowing and sustained postures (asanas) are integrated with conscious breathing (pranayama) and focused mind (mudra).  This deeply meditative practice allows the union of body, mind, and spirit, to emerge.

Students progress through levels as they increase their flexibility, strength, endurance, and knowledge of the method, creating flows which are as gentle or as challenging as desired.  Attention is given to creating a safe and nurturing environment where every student feels comfortable.  The method is respectful to all individuals and ranges of ability.

You are welcome to drop in and see if this class is a good fit for your needs!

Okinawan Karate Family Club

At the Ueshiro Okinawan Karate Family Club, we continue a centuries-old Okinawan tradition, passing this art form down from generation to generation, family to family.

We train in Shorin Ryu karate, and our club is part of Shorin Ryu Karate U.S.A., an organization founded by Grand Master Ansei Ueshiro and directed by Hanshi Robert Scaglione.

This is a fun, rewarding physical activity fostering individual skills, family unity, and community spirit.

Schedule of Classes:  Sundays 5:30-7:00pm.

Tuition:  $12.50/month (adults), $7.50/month (children/youth).  2+ members of each family.

The Art of Self Renewal Through Movement by Faye Burtch
These classes will be a combination of the many aspects of Movement Faye Burtch has studied over the years.  For more information, check www.burtchrolfing.com.  They can help you to increase propreoception-awareness of where you are in gravity-and to develop awareness of the inner and outer-tonic and intrinsic-core vs/sleeve.

Humans are made up mostly of water that is close to the saline consistency of the ocean.  This makes up a fluid system that can override the nervous system.  We can activate this system with sound and become one with ourselves and the universe.  Doing so can help to:

Increase vitality, health and healing
Provide a spacious sense of well-being
Develop core strength and flexible power
Revitalize bones, joints, and skeletal health
Release, relax, and realign, much like receiving body work
Heighten sensuality and increase receptivity
Awaken creativity, innovation and play
Facilitate trust in ones inherent body wisdom
Deepen spiritual connection
Provide a safe environment for growth and renewal
Provide an experience of a direct involvement in the harmony and congruence of our inner and outer realities

Faye Burtch has lived and worked in the State College area since 1978.  She has traveled around the world studying ancient medicines and spiritual practices.  Her goal is to combine this experience and knowledge in a way people can help themselves be the best they can be.
